Rel + 5 Analysis System

The Rel + 5 Analysis System is a design improvement tool which is used to evaluate the potential reliability of a given configuration and impact the design process by completing trade-off studies and comparing the reliability of different configurations. The analysis is completed under given usage parameters (Stress, Environment, Temperature, Component Quality Level, & the % Relative Humidity).

The Rel + 5 Analysis System can include any of the following:

bullet

   The BaseRate program

bullet

   The Rel + SM program.

These programs can operate together or as stand-alone programs.

BaseRate Program

The BaseRate program is used to evaluate the potential reliability of a Lowest Functional Element ( LFE), which is a component or group of components such as an assembly, and Hybrid.  The analysis can be completed using default values and updated using actual values later in the design process.  This lets the Engineer impact the design while it is still cost effective to make changes.

What sets the BaseRate program above other reliability programs is the PEM Model  which is used along with MIL-HDBK-217F-N2 Model.  The Reliability Analysis Center developed a reliability assessment model  to assess the potential reliability of state-of-the-art Plastic Encapsulated Microcircuits (PEMs) in most environments. It is this model that is used in the ‘PEM Model’ of the BaseRate program  This Program is provided  for a cost of only $ 1,595. US.

Rel + SM Program

The Rel + SM program is used to create a system math model and to calculate the Mission reliability, Basic reliability, and MTBF at all levels of the system model. The Rel + SM program uses the equations and guidelines of MIL-STD-756B (method 1001).  This program is provided for a cost of $ 1,950.
